Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks Clear Cartridge Review
This cartridge claims their THC oil is tested at 90%. Read our Dr. Zodiak cartridge review to find out if these high percentage claims are accurate or another oil cartridge that inflates their numbers. We had to test these Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrock Clear vape cartridges and were pretty impressed by what we found. These THC cartridges are potent, and we enjoyed the taste too. The name implies that these cartridges are pretty much out of this world, and actually, we’d tend to agree. With great flavors and a strong hit, we weren’t disappointed.
I was surprised to find out that there are replicates of the Dr. Zodiak cartridges on the black market (you will also find copies online). The fakes have weak amounts of THC content and do not vape as efficient as the real vape cartridges.
What Should You Know About Dr Zodiak’s Moonrocks?
Originally, Moon Rocks were developed by Dr. Zodiak himself and his partner Rapper Kurupt. The purpose of their creation was to create a cannabis high that was the absolute best on the planet.
Next to their original Moonrocks, they introduced Moonrock Ice, Moonrock Ice Blunts and Edibles (including Bobby Blue’s Brownies). Their Moonrock Clear Cartridge joined their product line providing another convenient and powerful way to use cannabis.
One look at the Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrock website and you’ll be convinced that this is a serious operation that knows what they’re doing. The site is well-presented and user-friendly, persuading viewers that they can rely on this brand.
There are some major heavy-hitters out there who are also fans of this brand, helping to persuade us that Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks is th real deal.
They launched the brand in 2013 and since then some big names like Snoop Dogg, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Rae Sremmurd, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, 2 Chainz, XXX Tentacion and Lil Wayne are into their products – and that’s just a few of the well-known fans of this brand.
The brand purports to find new and ground-breaking ways of helping patients to medicate and to find relief on-demand from their ailments. Their Clear Cartridges are part of this drive, giving users the chance to find relief while on the go.
How Does The Product Look?
We were pretty impressed by the way the Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks Clear Cartridges looked. They certainly have a very professional appearance. The glass tip paired with the stylish bunny logo makes these look like a top-quality choice. Although that doesn’t have an impact on how well the product hits, it helps to give you an idea about whether you’re getting something that’s worth the money and we felt that this product looked great.
What About The THC Content?
This brand claims that its prefilled cartridges contain 90% THC. We think that might be a bit of an over-estimate. We can’t find any evidence about their THC content, so we can’t know for sure. We’ve vaped cartridges before which stated a lower THC content than these, and we found that they had a more potent hit, so we think that you should take their 90% claims with a pinch of salt.
THC oil rating: 4/5
What About The Flavor?
Above everything else, what we liked best about these cartridges was their taste. These cartridges are made using cannabis which has been purified using several steps and they are infused with natural terpenes.
We tried the Razzle Dazzle flavor and we enjoyed its zesty flavor. It wasn’t quite the flavor that we were expecting – we thought it might be fruitier than it was – but that wasn’t too big of a problem. On the other hand, it wasn’t the best flavor we’ve ever tried.
There are lots of other flavors to choose from too. You can opt for Hardcore OG, Banana, Strawberry, Original, Gelato or Cotton Candy too. All seem to have fairly authentic flavors, although again, we’d say that they aren’t the absolute best on the market. Still, they’re not bad at all, and we think that their flavor is their best feature.
Flavor rating: 3/5
What About The Hits?
Hits from the real Moon Rocks clear cartridges are great. They are using the latest standard CCELL cartridge. Vaping distillate oil with this vape cartridge is enjoyable. There are fake cartridges which do not produce a lot of vapor. Scroll down this page to see a picture of a comparison between the real and counterfeit Moon Rocks Clear cartridge. The rips that these cartridges offer are smaller than those we’ve had from some other brands.
Vaping Hits Rating: 5/5 (Standard CCELL)
What About Pesticides?
This brand claims to be completely pesticide free. We can’t be sure of that since we can’t find their test results online. Once there is Moon Rock Clear cartridge lab test available we will update this review with them.
Pending rating: pending lab test results.
What About Availability?
Availability does seem to be an issue with Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks brand. Currently, you can only buy these cartridges in California. This leads people to go online to find them, and then you can’t be sure what you’re getting.
If you can’t buy them from a bricks-and-mortar store, you could be ordering a fake product and you’re not going to get the best experience. The brand is rolling out across more areas and they’re pretty responsive to customer comments and questions – if you can’t find them in a dispensary near you, they recommend that you either request them from your dispensary or contact the brand directly.
How Much Does It Cost?
The average price for a Moon Rocks Clear cartridge is $60 before tax. That’s the typical price for a premium hash oil cartridge in the bay area. Beware of fakes you can buy for a lot less on Weedmaps or apps like letgo and offerup.
Price rating: 5/5 (fair rate for premium cartridge)
What About Fakes?
The official Moon Rocks Clear cartridge uses a CCell cartridge. This brand has counterfeits that are not using CCELL cartridges. We’ve heard reports of some users saying that they were experiencing some burnt flavor from their fake carts. Below we added a comparison of the non-ccell cartridge and the authentic Moon Rock Clear cartridge.
Ah, the ever-present issue of fake cartridges! Unfortunately, no brand appears to be safe from fakers trying to pass off inferior products as the real thing. Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks isn’t immune to this problem either.
They reported on their Instagram about fake Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks Clear Cartridges circulating on the market. The brand themselves tell customers to look for the bunny logo on the cartridge itself which is supposed to be the sign that it’s a genuine product. However, we’ve seen these cartridges being offered for sale online with flavors that aren’t even in this brand’s current product range, so go figure. We wrote a more detail article on the current fake cartridge epidemic in the United States.
Any Other Issues?
There are people posting reviews online about the fake Dr. Zodiak moon rocks clear cartridges, and some of them are unaware that they are not using the real product. The fakes have almost identical packaging but the actual vape cartridge is different.
Apart from some reviews that are having issues with the flavor your won’t find any bad reviews about these cartridges. This is certainly a good quality distillate THC oil but there are better options out there (for the same cost). The vaping performance was the highlight of this Moon Rocks cartridge review.
Would We Recommend Dr. Zodiak’s Moonrocks Clear Cartridges?
There are some good things about this brand. They appear to be reliable and the flavors are pretty good. We also found that the hits weren’t bad at all and the THC content is pretty high (even if it it’s probably not quite as high as stated on the packaging). This is an overall good THC cartridge option for those who want distillate. Leave your own Dr. Zodiaks moon rock clear cartridge review in the comments below and share with others your experience.
There are a few negative points to consider but the overall quality of the cart outweighs that. It’s not difficult to determine whether you’re getting a fake product if your aware of how the real cart looks like.
We don’t have any definite proof of the THC level or the lack of pesticides and some of these cartridges are being sold at extortionately high prices.
With all of this in mind, we’ve decided to recommend these cartridges cautiously, but only if you’re buying them from a dispensary. That way, you can be more confident that you’re getting a genuine product.
