The Food and Drug Administration announced on Thursday that they would ban the sale of flavored tobacco products. Read the official statement here.
The statement came after an anti-tobacco group submitted a petition to ban flavored cigarettes and backwoods-like products. On the last day of the deadline, a response was given by the FDA.
What products will be banned nationally?
Well, all flavored tobacco products. This includes all menthol-flavored cigarettes—flavored cigars like the Honey Berry Backwoods or the various flavored Swisher Sweets.
No flavor added cigars or blunts will still be available.
Products like flavored cigarettes are already banned in several states. California is one of them. A trend that is gaining momentum.
The Netherlands and a few other countries already have a ban in place, and we suspect more countries to follow.
