Florida Sheriff Looking For ‘Rightful Owner’ Of 770 Pounds Of Weed

Sheriff Wayne Ivey of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in Florida has taken to social media to humorously seek the “rightful owner” of around 770 lbs of cannabis. The marijuana was confiscated from a mini-storage facility in Viera and is estimated to have a street value of roughly $2 million.

Sheriff Ivey joked on social media about identifying the owner of cannabis worth $2 million.

The ‘Staycation’ Offer

Going further, Ivey extended a tongue-in-cheek offer of a “staycation” for the cannabis owner, where they could contemplate “exactly how much your lost property means to you.”

He added that once the ‘rightful owner’ is identified, they will gladly return the property and ensure that both the person and their property are kept in a secure area to avoid any potential theft.

The Most ‘Politically Incorrect Sheriff’

Sheriff Ivey has gained fame for his extensive use of social media during his tenure. He self-proclaims as “the most politically incorrect sheriff in the country.” He has often utilized humor to engage with the public on various issues and cases.

One of the more notable examples of this is his “Wheel of Fugitive” program on YouTube. In this program, Ivey spins a wheel of fugitives to determine the “fugitive of the week.” He has always encouraged these fugitives to turn themselves in.

In a similar vein, he encouraged the owner of the 770 pounds of cannabis to contact the Narcotics Agents at the sheriff’s office. His humorous Facebook post has already garnered over 15,000 comments.
