Coming by way of Sensi Seeds, Silver Pearl is a sativa-dominant hybrid bred through the merging of Early Pearl, Skunk, and Northern Lights #5. A winner of the 1994 High Times Cannabis Cup for best hybrid, Silver Pearl is a powerfully potent strain that will get your head buzzing from the very get-go. So although not having the same monetary worth as some of the pearls you’d see auctioned at Sotheby’s, this is still a gem to behold in its own right and should be cherished for its upbeat and creative effects. An ideal wake and bake product if I ever saw one.
Silver Pearl is a strain that performs particularly well for indoor or greenhouse grows and doesn’t require a huge amount of nurture and maintenance (although you should always show your plant babies love!). It’s short and compact leaf structure allows for cosy compact grows and it tends to flower around the 6-7 week mark. Much quicker than the average flowering time for most cannabis plants, not to mention it yields around 400-500g/m2. It might not be the highest yielding plant out there, Silver Pearl’s rapid growth makes it a very attractive plant to grow if you are looking for quick results.
Silver Pearl buds are dense and deep green in color, and are submerged in bright orange hairs and frosty resiny trichomes which look a lot like pearls. Flavorwise the bud is initially sweet and sugary and has a similar taste to black treacle syrup, and the aftertaste is earthy and piney. In terms of its aroma, Silver Pearl gives off a very distinct and pungent smell of dark chocolate and skunk and a slight hint of citrus. Overall, Silver Pearl is a nice tasting and smelling strain but its appearance is perhaps the most pleasing attribute out of the lot.
THC levels are reported to be around 16-21% whilst CBD levels are estimated to be around 0.3%. As always, this is just a rough average based on a small sample of grows. Potency and quality can vary dramatically depending on many factors therefore, dispensary grade cannabis is recommended so you know what you are getting.
Almost immediately after smoking you will notice a mental and bodily buzz that will get you feeling uplifted, euphoric and dare I say a little hyperactive. Many users have also reported feeling tingly all over their body, but what you will predominantly experience throughout this high is bursting mental energy that can almost verge on psychedelic. So after a trippy experience, a mild relaxing bodily sensation will start to take hold, but take note, your mind will continue to be on overdrive throughout the high. It might be a good idea to work on that exciting side project you’ve got involved with recently or learn the guitar. Seize the jay then seize the day!
Owing to its uplifting boost, this is an ideal strain to help combat stress, depression, anxiety and fatigue. Additional benefits include providing relief for chronic pain, nausea, and inducing the munchies for those with eating disorders.
Due it’s cerebral buzz, aside from the conventional dry mouth and dry eyes, the intense head high can cause some users to feel dizzy which may lead to some anxiety and panic for those not accustomed to smoking cannabis. Take it easy if you are a first time smoker or are prone to panic and wait to see how you feel before smoking again :)
