General info

Pineapple Kush is a cross between Pineapple and Master Kush, and although the breeder of this strain is not known, the strains popularity can certainly speak for itself. This strain is popular amongst novice smokers, due to its light mellow taste and combines the best of the Pineapple and Master Kush strains to create a refreshing hybrid. Pineapple Kush is unfortunately hard to come by, and it is difficult to come across seeds of the original strain. If you are lucky enough to come across the real deal, then enjoy the journey you will no doubt embark on!

Grow info

The flowering time indoors is between 8-9 weeks while the flowering time outdoors is in late September or early October. One of the benefits of growing Pineapple Kush is that it is extremely resistant to common moulds and mildew and is fairly easy to grow, simply requiring an appropriate temperature and room to grow. When grown outdoors you can expect about 20 ounces of weed per plant, while indoors it will average around 18 ounces.

FLAVORS

As the name suggests, the aroma and taste of Pineapple Kush is sweet and tropical with a characteristic Kush smell. The tropical aroma carries hints of a delicious caramel flavour which makes this strain particularly appealing to anyone with a sweet tooth! While the buds do resemble the shape of a pineapple, it is its parent strain Pineapple that has real similarities with the tropical fruit.

STRAIN TEST

One study by Analytical 360 found one strain of Pineapple Kush to come in at 17.76% THCa. The test also found the strain to contain 0.10% CBDa with a terpene content of 0.38% (0.11 % Caryophyllene and 0.27 % Humulene coming through in the taste and aroma).

EFFECTS

The mid-range THC levels of around 15 percent makes Pineapple Kush an excellent hybrid for newbies. Don’t be fooled, however, the taste and aroma produced are mellow enough for new users to enjoy the ride, but has an unexpected potency that can be noted by even the most experienced of users. A warm and fuzzy feeling accompanies the consumption of Pineapple Kush, making it the ideal chill out strain. Consume too much, however, and you can go from relaxed and uplifted to tired and couch-locked.

This would certainly be the strain of choice for people who experience a loss of appetite due to a medical condition. Indeed, if you are lucky enough to come across this sweet hybrid, and are a sufferer of an eating disorder or lack of appetite, then this mild tasting, but highly effective hybrid could help you increase your appetite.

This strain is famous for the case of munchies it can give an individual! And though that might be a welcome side-effect for some users, for others it might be an undesirable one. Most people who do experience side-effects will note dry eyes and mouth and occasionally, but much more rare, are headaches and dizziness.
