General info
Holy Grail Kush (HGK) is a strain that was set up for success since its initial breeding. HGK was bred by DNA Genetics using two cannabis cup champions for parent strains. The result is a high yielding plant that produces chunky, dense, flowers with a distinct aroma. HGK actually received the first ever perfect score when it won the Cannabis Cup in 2011. As if that isn’t impressive enough, this strain came back to become a Cannabis Cup winner the next year as well.
Grow info
HGK is generally an Indica dominant cannabis hybrid. Its lineage combines Kosher Kush and The OG #18. Despite mostly appearing in Indica form, there are two known phenotypes of Holy Grail Kush. The first phenotype produces Indica-dominant flowers, grows short and compact, and blossoms quite quickly. The second produces Sativa-dominant flowers and as such, grows long and stretched. It also takes longer to flower than the latter phenotype. Holy Grail Kush isn’t a finicky strain to grow, and therefore is suitable for Novice to Expert level growers. The plants will flower for nine weeks, around 61-71 days. Under optimal conditions, Holy Grail Kush can yield up to 650 grams of bud per square meter of growing space.
FLAVORS
Once properly dried and cured, Holy Grail Kush buds will be sticky and fragrant. Aromatically, HGK first fills the nostril with spiced wood and skunk quickly followed by the slightest hint of lemon. The flavor of combusted or vaporized smoke is similar to the smell but with the added taste of musky patchouli.

STRAIN TEST
There are some amazing test results posted for the public proving the potency of HGK. One set of HPLC results from Analytical 360, a testing lab in Washington, showed the plant’s composition at a whopping 0.75% CBG, 0.35% CBD, and 16.83% THC. This same test revealed that this strain is mostly made up of linalool, myrcene, and Caryophyllene oxide. From these results, it seems that the sample plant from this test represents the first predominantly Indica phenotype. Another set of results from Massachusetts testing lab mcr Labs appears to reveal the composition of the second phenotype. These results display a flower with 22% THCA and 0.1% CBDa. There are no terpene results available from these lab results. Commonly found Holy Grail Kush provides amazing muscle tension relief and can even release nagging anxieties and stress. This strain has been utilized to provide relief from conditions such as chronic nausea, pain, and anxiety. It is a valuable tool for treating symptoms related to Chrohn’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and fibromyalgia.
EFFECTS
Effects begin to round out immediately after inhalation with release of ocular pressure that slowly generates towards the temples. As the effects ruminate in the headspace, pain relief delivered by Holy Grail Kush begins to trickle down the spine. This one is all about the body stone.
Do be aware, however, that HGK can create some serious red-eye. This strain might also make those who are more sensitive to Indica effects feel lethargic.
