Also known as “Cotton Candy Kush”, this pretty strain wavers between an Indica and hybrid depending on where and how it was produced. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing strain with pink hues running through the sweet buds due to it’s Lavender lineage. The famed Power Plant is also present in the lineage although it’s not much of an energy producer like one might suspect. The ever-growing concentrate crowd will be excited as these buds can get very sticky and resinous. Dab away!
Indoor growers can expect to see this strain flowering in a very reasonable 8-9 week period however, you will need to keep the plants well trimmed to counter its ambitious growth. Indoor yields can rake in up to 16 ounces per square meter (453g) whilst outdoor grows (flowering in October) can provide farmers with up to 35 ounces per plant (992g). For growing outdoors you will need to choose a warm, sunny environment and aside from local pests, this strain is pretty tough when it comes to fighting mold and disease.
If you want to impress your friends with looks then this might be a winner. It’s pink and green body is often covered with crystals that resemble a sweet sugary dressing. The buds are fairly big and fluffy with an undeniable floral scent making their way up the nostrils. As stated earlier, these buds can get sticky so watch your fingers!
A 2016 test conducted by Analytical 360 found a THC percentage of 16.31% with 0.04% CBD (not as much as one would expect!). This test also found a terpene total of 1.8% overall with 0.58% Caryophyllene and 0.53% Limonene taking the lion's share.
A more old test from 2015 had the next results:
There’s a strong chance you will feel very relaxed and happy after smoking, vaping or ingesting this strain. You won’t want to move too much so make sure you are set up in a comfortable environment with some scrumptious snacks to quell the munchies. If you don’t want to gorge on fast food try surrounding yourself with some fruit to stave off the guilt! You might notice a creeping body stone too so avoid before working out at the gym or engaging in an intense activity.
Cotton Candy can bring much-needed relief to patients suffering from chronic pain which makes it a prescription favorite. It also has anti-inflammatory effects which combined with the pain relief, make an attractive choice for athletes (who aren’t drug tested of course). In addition to these benefits, it’s also been known to help with mood disorders and insomnia. Quite the cocktail!
Dry mouth is commonly reported as a side effect and if you have a low tolerance or are predisposed to anxiety, you might find yourself getting a little bit paranoid if you take too much. Pace yourself, know your limits and you should be fine. As always, if in doubt, give your dispensary or doctor a shout!
