Seth Rogen Has Only Gone 3 Days Without Weed in 14 Years – The Real Reason Is Darker Than You Think

Seth Rogen, Hollywood’s most iconic stoner and proud cannabis advocate, shocked fans with a rare confession during his recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show: he once went three full days without smoking weed.

The reason? A trip to Singapore, a country infamous for its zero-tolerance drug policies.

Rogen visited Southeast Asia in 2011 and was immediately met with a sobering reality. “You land and they hand you a pamphlet that basically says, ‘If you have drugs, you will be executed,’” he said, recalling his arrival in the strict island state. “It’s pretty scary.”

Known for co-writing and starring in cannabis-friendly comedies like Pineapple Express and This Is the End, Rogen is anything but shy about his love of marijuana. He even co-founded his weed lifestyle brand, Houseplant. But in Singapore, his usual habits came to a screeching halt.

“I didn’t smoke weed for three days,” he told Stern. “And that’s the longest I’ve gone in a very long time.”

Singapore has some of the harshest drug laws in the world. Possession or consumption of even small amounts of cannabis can result in up to 10 years in prison, heavy fines, and corporal punishment. For trafficking offenses, the penalty is death.

Rogen admitted that he’s previously traveled with cannabis accidentally, like finding some in a bag or his jacket pocket. Still, this time, he made sure to triple-check everything before landing.

He joked that he didn’t go into withdrawal or panic without his usual toke, saying, “You’re still allowed to drink there, so I got by.”

Fans were quick to react on social media. Many were surprised to learn there was anywhere on Earth that could keep Seth Rogen sober, even for a few days. Others praised him for being smart and respectful of local laws.

While the story is a humorous footnote in Rogen’s long history with weed, it also reminds travelers: know the rules before you fly. Even the most seasoned stoner knows some lines shouldn’t be crossed.

Rogen’s experience shows that even die-hard cannabis lovers draw the line somewhere — especially when the alternative is execution.
