  • Parchment & Wax paper
  • Candy thermometer
  • saucepan large
  • Ingredients
  • 4 cups granulated sugar OR cannabis sugar

  • 2 cups light corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 24 oz evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt to top with if you like

Directions

  • Prepare a 9x 9 baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Add the cannabutter, sugar, corn syrup, and salt to a saucepan over medium heat and stir well. Heat until the mixture begins to boil, about 7-8 minutes.

  • Slowly and gradually add the evaporated milk, making sure the mixture stays at a constant boil. This can take upwards of 10-15 minutes per can of milk. Add your thermometer to the pan and secure it to the side. Constantly stir until the mixture reaches 245° F.
  • Remove and stir in vanilla extract. Pour prepared mixture over your parchment-lined pan. Sprinkle with sea salt if you like, and place in fridge overnight. Once cooled for at least 4-6 hours, cut into squares and wrap individually in wax paper. Enjoy!

Caramels Made With Cannabutter

Cannabutter, also known as weed butter, is one of the most common cannabis-infused staple recipes.

It’s one of the best and most versatile ways to infuse this recipe with cannabis, and it’s also what gives the caramels their lovely buttery taste.

If you don’t have cannabis butter prepared in advance ( highly recommend), you’re going to want to prepare it before making today’s recipe.

But if you want to make caramels with cannabis-infused sugar, then you can just use regular unsalted butter in place of the cannabutter.

If you haven’t made cannabutter before, here’s how.

Caramels Made With Cannabis Sugar

Using homemade cannabis sugar is another yummy way to infuse this caramel recipe.

Cannabis sugar can be used in absolutely anything from cupcakes to Asian dressings for salads and stirfry.

Much like cannabutter, you’ll need to have cannabis sugar ready to go or prepared in advance.

Unfortunately, making caramel is not exactly a beginner-friendly recipe. It takes time, patience and mindfulness because you have to focus on a lot, especially temperature and heat levels.

I suggest running a test batch first, without the weed. This way you know what to do, what works, and how to do it. Taste it, and make sure you like it.

Then? If it’s good – recreate it with your choice of weed infusion. And if not? Try again until you get it just right!
