Coffeshop De Kooi

Coffeeshop the Kooi is located at the Amstelstraat close to the Waterlooplein and is easy accessible by public transport. The shop is bird and cage themed and got a beautiful interior. The shop was previously called old Amsterdam and got renovated a year ago.

When you enter you directly see the bird cages lamps that hang on the ceiling that give a great atmosphere. Comfortable benches are placed against the walls. The room is decorated with hand painted golden birds. The shop is not to big. In the back you will find the bar where you can purchase cannabis and drinks. The bar crew is friendly and serve great coffee. It’s a busy shop, people walk in and out and most places are taken at the moment of being there.

The menu is displayed on tablets that are laying on the counter. They have the next categories: indica, sativa, pre rolled, hash and weed. The weed category is a mix of the sativa and indica. Cali strains are listed together with Dutch strains and there is a big variety different flavors. Gelato 41, zookies, Purple reign and tutti frutti.

Prices range from 40 euro for cali import to 17 for Dutch grow American genetics. The hash list contains some lovely traditional strains and new school hashish. Topping the list with 24K gold, King Hassan, Honey Cream and super pollen, to name a few.

Pre Rolled joints are available in pure and tobacco mixed versions. They have a Cali pre rolled, a happy joint, pure joint and a hash joint. All the products listed have a indica and sativa indication and a description on potency. Space ale is available as well and is nicely displayed on dishes at the bar.
