BrassKnuckles Xzbit

The Brass Knuckles vape cartridge brand was founded in Los Angeles California. Keep reading to learn more about the history of this vape cartridge company and where it’s at today.

Two of the biggest names involved with Brass Knuckles vape pens are the hip-hop artist Xzibit and his investor Dr. Dre.

For a long time, Dr. Dre was only a silent investor but his involvement gone public recently. Their prefilled vape cartridge company is evaluated to be worth 170 million dollars right now. So, what has happened to cause the controversy with this established THC oil cartridge company? It begins with a frequent Brass Knuckles vape cartridge user becoming ill.

Additional incidents that damaged this brands reputation were multiple independent lab tests done on its THC oil cartridges. Some of these lab results showed dangerous amounts of pesticides.

Fake Brass Knuckles Vape Cartridges

Fake Brass Knuckles Vape Cartridges

The company rebuttals with the fact that there are many counterfeits of their products available on the black market. Brass Knuckles claims that the products tested must have been fake ones that were mistaken for their actual products. There is indeed easy accessibility to their packaging and empty vape cartridges through online marketplaces in China.

Chinese dealers are helping Americans trick other Americans by providing them with almost identical Brass Knuckles cases. The counterfeit cartridges even have the Brass Knuckles logo etched on it. These fakes continue to improve as consumers report them online and to Brass Knuckles via their Instagram page.

Brass Knuckles has fought back with building an informative page on their website that helps consumers to detect the different fakes available on the market. You can find heir guide via Google by typing in Brass Knuckles cartridge fake guide. Sadly, their guide has become outdated. The current counterfeit packings options for sale on DhGate.com are much better than the previous fakes.

Brass Knuckles is also very active on their Instagram account. They will respond to any concerns about fakes. Beware buying from somebody without the proper license to sell cannabis products.

Brass Knuckles Vape Cartridge Lawsuit

There’s now a civil lawsuit against Brass Knuckles and Xzibit for promoting a product that was supposed to be clean of pesticides. They’re also being sued for lying about the potency of their products after lab results showed a lower amount of THC. Before this upgrade, they had a link on their menu that could easily be found directing people to their lab tests. This link has been this link has been removed now. You can still see their lab test page here. Their Forbidden fruit cartridge strain was shown to be tested at 90% THC from labs sclabs in December 2017.

My Experience With Brass Knuckles Vape Cartridges

As someone who used Brass knuckles vape cartridges on a daily basis for a long time, I can provide some insight into the claims stated above.

I first vaped Brass knuckles vape cartridges over a year ago when I resided in Modesto, Ca. During this time I was on the search for the strongest vape cartridges on the market. That’s when I stumbled upon this oil cartridge on Weedmaps. At this point, I had already wasted hundreds of dollars trying to find the most potent prefilled cartridge. I got hooked after trying this prefilled vape cartridge for the first time! I couldn’t believe the potency was so high that it replaced my dab rig. This THC oil cartridge was the next logical step for all others to follow behind it.

Not only was Brass knuckles cartridges stronger than any other cartridge I tried, but it was also super discreet. The vape from these cartridges is so discreet that I was able to get high in any public area where people would smoke cigarettes. I first wrote about this prefilled vape cartridge in August of 2017 on dabconnection.com. I rated Brass Knuckles cartridges an 8.6/10 during this time. This brand was my number one go-to for about six months before I started experiencing chest pains and wheezing. I was frequently trying out other vape products during this time, so I couldn’t identify if it were Brass Knuckles vape cartridges alone making me ill or if was vaping too much in general. I took a break from vaping entirely, and the problems went away after a month.

After reading the claims of the person suing Brass Knuckles and how similar they were to my health issues, I could see his claims did probably have truth to them.

Brass Knuckles Vape Flavors

This prefilled THC oil cartridge company offers a wide selection of delicious options. Their terpene selection and the combination of potent THC distillate oil is top of the line. Brass Knuckles has done a great job creating clean tasting cannabis strain flavors with terpenes derived from the cannabis plant. Their sweet flavors do a great job at disguising the vape smell completely. Those who want to vape without bringing attention to it will favor the candy-flavored prefilled cartridges. Below we compiled a list of their current regular strains available. It’s also important to note that they will include new strains that are temporary available occasionally.

Indica strain selection:

Sativa strain selection:

Hybrid Strains:

  • Gushers by Connected
  • Banana OG (Did not taste like Banana, I did not like this strain flavor)
  • Forbidden Fruit (Taste exactly like the Forbidden fruit strain)
  • Gelato (Taste sweet with a hint of pineapple)
  • Abracadabra (Taste like some good cannabis)
  • Gorilla Glue #4 (Immaculate cannabis taste)
  • Girl Scout Cookies (Taste like the Girl Scout Cookie cannabis strain)

THC Oil Strength Isn’t Consistent And Flavor

After buying from a Weedmaps approved Brass Knuckles seller for a few months, I had a complaint about a burnt taste. I had to get the cartridge replaced because it had a horrible taste to it (the taste was so bad you couldn’t tolerate it). I would frequently buy the same Jack Herer strain from Brass Knuckles, so I could distinguish its flavor profiles right away and knew something was off. Afterwards, I noticed the potency levels of Brass Knuckles began to decline. The absent of high amounts of THC was noticeable and it required me to vape more to get as high as before.

I was able to try over five different Brass Knuckles strains before moving onto other cartridges like Stiiizy and Plug and Play. I think their strongest strain was Forbidden Fruit. I tried this one and it was indeed extremely potent. This strain tested at an impressive 90% THC and later was diluted to much less in March 2017 at 71% THC. It was during this time Brass knuckles decided to test their cartridges with different labs when their THC percentages noticeably reduced.

Brass Knuckles Oil Cartridges Sold On The Black Market

The black market in California is flooded with fake Brass Knuckles cartridges these days. There are even fake Brass Knuckles wholesale options available. The black market wholesale prices are around $10.00 each if you buy 50 or more. The cost for one Brass Knuckles cartridge is as low as $25.00.

I managed to try one and it was the exact flavor profiles as the original Brass Knuckles vape cartridges. People may be able to replicate their packaging, but their doing the same with the flavor profiles is another story. To be honest, this makes one wonder if there was a massive dumping done of the cartridges contaminated with pesticides.

Scenarios like this are why we need regulation and laws for cannabis because the black market doesn’t require any lab testing. Key is that cannabis laws are designed to protect the consumers.

Nevada requires cannabis concentrates to be lab-tested with limits to how much impurities are allowed. States like California need to replicate these cannabis laws to ensure its residents are buying clean products.

Brass Knuckles advises buying only from verified suppliers of their products. You can check on Weedmaps whether a distributor is legit or not. There’s a little blue badge next to the Brass Knuckles products in the Weedmaps menu that verifies the seller as a legitimate one.

Is It Safe To Vape Brass Knuckles Cartridges?

There have been multiple independent lab-tests completed by different people on various Brass Knuckles cartridges. These test results revealed pesticides found in Brass Knuckles vape cartridges on multiple occasions. Some of the lab test results are available on Instagram. In 2017 the Instagram user Clean_meds_Cali posted lab results of the Brass Knuckles cartridge Gorilla Glue. The lab results were dirty with Myclobutanil found.

On February 28, 2018, the user datdude41510 posted on Instagram the lab results of a Brass Knuckles vape cartridge testing 6.8 times the state limit for Bifenazate. They were also over the limit for permethrin by 16 times. Various serious health conditions can develop from these chemicals. There was a study done by the EPA with low dosages of bifenazate given to a rat which increased liver weight in the male, and spleen in females.

If you’re concerned with whether it’s okay to vape Brass Knuckles cartridges, we suggest reaching out to a lab and doing an independent test. This brand has created some of the best tasting THC oil cartridges. They are continuing to introduce new strains through their own grows and collaborations with other cannabis companies. They also have their very own Brass Knuckles vape pen available for sale.

Weedmaps reviews suffer

Currently, this brand is under damage control with their weedmaps.com overall rating falling to a 3.8/5. It’s possible that people are confusing counterfeit products with the real.

Other common complaints lowering the rating of these prefilled cartridges is the leaking of THC oil. They had a much higher overall rating before the pesticide news spread all over the internet.

The following text is found on the Brass Knuckles vape cartridge homepage, “We DO NOT AND NEVER HAD a pesticide issue.” As of now there has been officially no brass knuckles vape recall.

New Brass Knuckles Disposable Vape Pen Announced In September 2018

Brass Knuckles recently announced a new disposable vape pen product releasing soon. You can check their Instagram post here.

This company had previously released a new type of vape cartridge with an airway on it without success. People complain about the distillate THC oil hitting them in the mouth and burning the oil too quickly. That’s probably why they canceled this new vape cartridge quickly after the launch. Let’s hope they learned from their failure with their first attempt at innovating the vape cartridge for distillate oil.

The price of a one-gram prefilled cartridge from Brass Knuckles has decreased after all the bad publicity. The average price before the pesticides scandal in California would average $65. Now the product is available for as low as $50 a gram.

People in Nevada can enjoy Brass Knuckles cartridges without having to worry about their being pesticides because of the stricter laws.

Stay Tuned!

We will continue to update this story here as it progresses. Our plan is to send some cartridges to a well established lab and see how the tests come out.
